Give visitors a useful reason to speak
A website voice agent lets a visitor ask questions aloud and receive conversational responses through an enabled web experience. It works best when the visitor can choose it for a clear purpose: understanding a service, checking an approved product answer or sharing the details needed for a sales enquiry.
Keep ordinary navigation, readable product information and contact options available. Voice should be an option, not a compulsory introduction. A visitor who cannot use a microphone, prefers typing or is browsing in a public place still needs a useful way to complete the same task.
Configure the knowledge and website scope
In Voxae, configure the agent's instructions, approved knowledge, workflow and web channel. Decide which website origins can use the experience and what the agent may do. Public product support should use reviewed public information rather than unrestricted access to internal systems.
Use answers that match the visible website, including availability qualifications and a route to a person. If a visitor asks about a product detail that is not approved, the agent should acknowledge the gap and offer the appropriate follow-up instead of inventing a feature or price.
- Approve public knowledge and its update owner.
- Configure the web channel and allowed website origins.
- Limit tools to the visitor's permitted workflow.
- Keep typing, navigation and contact alternatives usable.
Make microphone permission understandable
Website voice needs the visitor's microphone permission and a supported browser environment. Let the visitor choose to start the conversation before requesting access. Explain what the microphone is for and give a clear stop or end control.
Test permission denial, a disconnected microphone and a network interruption. A useful fallback can offer chat or direct contact without repeatedly prompting for permission. Browser and device behavior varies; review the actual target devices rather than infer support from a desktop recording.
Define the result of an enquiry
A lead qualification conversation may collect a visitor's intended workflow, relevant requirements and contact preference. Agree which fields are necessary and how the visitor confirms them. Keep sensitive or unnecessary details outside a public enquiry flow.
The next step depends on the configured system. Capturing the visitor's interest is different from sending an enquiry or booking a meeting. A connected action must return acceptance before the agent claims completion. If the workflow only prepares an email draft, the visitor still needs to send it.
Evaluate the experience on the website
Test the embedded experience at mobile and desktop sizes with keyboard navigation, readable responses and a clear exit. Use the same product questions in voice and chat, including corrections and questions the source material does not answer. Check that handoff preserves the details needed by your team.
Voxae supports configured website voice and chat alongside phone and WhatsApp workflows. A scoped evaluation confirms the channel, permissions, tools and visitor journey. The public marketing pages describe the product and representative examples; they are not a live agent performing business actions.
Questions about this workflow
Does website voice replace my website content?
No. Keep useful public pages, product explanations and contact options available. Voice offers an additional way to interact, with typing or direct contact as alternatives.
What if a visitor declines microphone access?
The configured experience should offer an understandable fallback, such as chat or a contact option. Test permission denial and recovery on the actual browsers and devices in scope.
